Who?
I love Jesus. I love learning to be in relationship with Jesus and I love that he is my heart! Through this crazy journey I call life, my relationship with Jesus changes and shifts and I learn new things. I love the mystery of this relationship and embrace the mystery.
I am over the top in love with my family! I am crazy in love with my best friend and soul mate, Adam, and this year we celebrate 10 years of marriage. We have 3 children who were born within 4 years of each other and our life is blessed beyond measure by this gift of life. I am sure their sparkling eye of mischief and chocolate stained faces will grace you weekly on the blog and I am confident you will fall in love with their sweetness just as I have.
The best birthday gift I ever received, the gift I dreamed about since I can remember, is Choc. He is the sweetest puppy that has stood by me through each pregnancy, laid at my feet, snuggled me and comes looking for comfort when the wind howls too loudly. Our sweet chocolate lab is turning 8 this spring. He is just as much part of our life and family as anyone.
I was made to move; my hands almost always have to be moving, creating, writing, cooking or making photographs. I am a constant dreamer, I dream about the details, the smells, the colors and the textures of what life will bring. However, by dreaming I love to stop and see that my dreams do come true and that they do play out into reality. Even though they often times look a bit different then I expected…but often better than I could have imagined. Come explore, learn and create with me! Let’s dream together!

Why?
Why the name Life on a Whim?
If you have spent much time with Adam and I, you may have noticed we do more things better on a whim then if it’s planned. Our family does a lot depending on the moment. Sometimes we plan to go on vacation and head west and the day or so before we end up going east instead. We believe life is fuller for us if we live life on a whim…

What?
What will you find here?
I love to write from my heart, if you stumble on Life on a Whim I hope you are inspired, encouraged to live your dreams, empowering you to see beauty in the mundane and hope in the darkness. I hope you find new favorite recipes and share the meals with the ones you love. I hope you can find an outlet in your own life and find your voice because you have been encouraged to speak your voice. I hope you create for yourself and for those you love. I hope you find fulfillment in your participation here. I am going to be dreaming, finding inspiration, creating, sharing, learning, loving and you are invited to watch. Watch me grow; watch me learn. I am inviting you to watch me fall and stumble but pick myself up again, to find freedom in creating and loving through reminders and words. You will see me living my life on a whim. Sometimes it will work out really well and sometimes I will fall and get banged up. But, nonetheless, you are invited to share in this journey with me.
